Hello writers/creators! I wanted to organize this writing group to create a space for people to gather and work on individual projects in a quiet, communal space. There are a few other SUAW groups in Pittsburgh already, but I wanted one that I could walk to, so I created it! Anyone is welcome to join. You don't need to be a creative writer. You can be doing research, writing a paper, reading, drawing... Whatever you want to use the time & space for that's adjacent to writing, as long as it's quiet. Here's how it works: 5:45 -- Meeting Room 2 opens up for us and we start to gather. 6:00 -- We go around and say what we plan to work on. 6:15-7:15 -- We write (or whatever) quietly! 7:15 -- The timer goes off. We go around and say how it went/ what we worked on. There's no sharing of work, critique, or feedback, but you can connect with others afterwards and do that as you wish! This is just a space to be accountable to your work and be in the company of others also trying to get stuff done. We will meet in Meeting Room 2 unless otherwise noted! This is on the second floor of the library, and there is an elevator. The room is wheelchair accessible. Additionally, WiFi is available as well as outlets and restrooms around the corner.
