Community-Run Accounts Need a Disclaimer
If you run a local or independent SUAW-branded account (on Facebook, Instagram, etc.), make clear that your group is community-run and not operated by SUAW HQ. Put a disclaimer in your bio, About section, or a pinned post:
We're proud to use the Shut Up & Write!® method to host our writing sessions. This is a community-run account and not officially managed by Shut Up & Write! HQ.
Brand Asset Downloads
This download includes official logos, color guidelines, and usage examples to help you properly represent Shut Up & Write! in your promotional materials.
Event Checklists
The day-of checklists for in-person and online sessions live on the Host a Session page — print them or keep them open on your phone. Use the format toggle there to show just the checklist for your group type.
Promotional Materials
Print these materials to help writers find your in-person events or share them digitally for online sessions.
Table Tent Signs
Tip: your group's Manage menu has a Download Table Tent option that generates a table tent personalized to your group, complete with a QR code that links newcomers straight to your group page — use that one if you can. The generic designs below work for any event.
Choose from two Shut Up & Write! table tent designs. Print on cardstock or regular paper (prints on one letter/A4 sheet) and fold so it stands up. Place it on your table at in-person meetups so newcomers can find you easily in a café or library.
Printable Flyer Template
A customizable flyer you can use to promote your group. Add your session details (time, place, contact info) and post it on community boards, campus bulletin boards, or share digitally.
Social Media Kit
A folder of SUAW logos, images, and example text you can use for promoting your event on social media or emails. Contains graphics in various sizes (for Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and some sample copy for invites/posts.
Get Support
Questions? Need help? Feeling uncertain about something? We've got you. The Community Team supports organizers at every step — and reaching out isn't just for emergencies. We can help with:
- Technical support: can't figure out how to edit a session or where a feature lives? We'll walk you through it.
- Event logistics: venue changes, location advice, or coordinating extra resources as your group grows.
- Resolving issues: a difficult situation with an attendee, or anything you're unsure how to address. Your safety and the group's well-being come first.
- Ideas & growth: collaborative events, writing challenges, or connecting with organizers who've done something similar.
- Morale & encouragement: low-attendance week? Sometimes you just need a pep talk. We're here for that too.
The best way to reach us is the contact form — submit it while logged in and we'll already know who you are and can help faster. We monitor it daily and aim to respond within 1–2 business days, often sooner. For urgent safety issues during an event, contact your local authorities first, then let us know afterward so we can provide additional support.
Remember, you have an entire community behind you and a wealth of resources at your disposal. Being an organizer should be rewarding and fun, and having these tools handy will hopefully make your job easier. Happy organizing, and thank you for helping writers everywhere Shut Up & Write!
