Escrevemos em silêncio, em boa companhia, sem críticas nem pressão para partilhar o nosso trabalho. 🇬🇧 Welcome! Shut Up & Write! Madeira is a welcoming and inclusive writing community, open to writers of all backgrounds and levels of experience. We write quietly, in good company, with no critique and no pressure to share our work. Shut Up & Write! is a global community that helps writers overcome procrastination, quiet their inner critic, and make steady progress on their projects. Our meetups offer a structured and welcoming space where writers of all backgrounds can focus on their work and set aside time to write in community. We usually sit inside near the oversized teddy bear, which makes us easy to find. Please arrive between 3:30pm and 3:50pm at Pátio - Brunch & Bistrô. We begin writing at 4:00pm. We start with a few minutes of introductions, then move into a focused writing period. Afterward, there is a quick optional check-in to share progress. No one reads or critiques your work. This is simply time set aside to write in community. Attendance and Confirmation To make sure each meetup runs when there is real interest, the session will only go ahead if at least one person posts a short confirmation in the event discussion page by 11:00 am on the day of the event . Marking “Going” on its own doesn’t activate the session. To confirm, open the event on the Shut Up & Write! website, tap Discussions , and post something like “I’ll be there today.” If there’s no confirmation in the event chat by 11:00 am , the session will be canceled. Community Guidelines ✍🏾 Come to write. Writing is the reason we’re here. Conversation and friendship are welcome, but protect the writing time. 🪑 Share the room. Make room for other voices. 📌 Keep it relevant. Think of the group chat as our shared table . Keep what you share connected to writing, our gatherings, or the life of our community . Everyone’s attention is valuable. 🚪 Invitations are invitations. Ask before adding another member to a group, list, or event. Friendships and collaborations are wonderful; access is opt-in.
