Welcome to Shut up and Write! Please join the Kalamazoo Chapter of Shut up and Write for an hour of writing! We have discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you! Let's meet on Mondays at 6pm! Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 6:00 pm - Quick introductions 6:00ish - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 7:00ish - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 7:15pm. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Other Important Details: Location: 3019 Oakland Dr. Kalamazoo, MI 49006 TRAVEL / PARKING: Parking Lot SEATING INFORMATION: Look for a table with a "Shut Up & Write" Sign or friendly faces with laptops and notebooks. If able, we try to sit together. If we aren’t able to find seats together then we sit seperate and write starting at 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm when we socialize (optional).
